The 2008 OrACRAO Annual Conference has come and gone . . . but we still need your help, even if you didn’t attend! The conference evaluation is invaluable in planning future conferences and in letting your planning committee know what worked, what didn’t, and what you’d like to see at next year’s event. Please take a few short minutes (we promise) and complete the conference evaluation available online. For those of you who didn’t attend this year’s conference, please answer questions 23, 24, and 25, which will help tremendously in planning the 2009 conference (to be held at the Oregon Garden Resort).

If you are interested in volunteering to serve on the 2009 Planning Committee, or even just helping out with tasks during the conference, you can e-mail OrACRAO President, Marla Edge. She will be selecting a committee during the next few months and saving up volunteer names, too.

Thank you for your input,

Reid Kisling
OrACRAO Past-President

Just a reminder that early registration for the annual conference must be postmarked by tomorrow, Friday, April 18 (after which the registration fee increases to $200 per person).
The Executive Committee met earlier this year to review our current guidelines and is proposing several amendments to our governance documents. These amendments are being presented to the membership in advance of the annual business meeting (to be held during the annual conference on May 6, 2008) for the prerequisite one month advance notice.

Please read the proposed amendments and be prepared to vote for their approval at the annual business meeting (only institutional members are eligible to vote on association matters).

Running Y is now taking reservations for lodging for this year’s conference. Please be sure to make your reservations by April 3 (after which time rooms will be released to the general public). We would encourage all participants from institutions bringing multiple people to the conference to consider reserving a townhome/chalet instead of just a lodge room (due to limited availability of the latter). We would also recommend that you consider arriving ahead of or staying after the conference to participate in some of the many available activities of the region. More information about lodging (including contact info and rates) is available here.

Look forward to this year’s conference with informative sessions, interactive roundtables, networking, great entertainment, and the chance to spend a few days away with your colleagues. Registration information will be available on the OrACRAO website soon. For now check out those recommended activities!
