President’s Corner
Hello OrACRAO!
I hope your summer is going well and I must say that I am pleased and honored to serve you as your President for this upcoming year. After a brief moment off, we are already beginning the process of planning for the 2011 conference. I can’t wait to work with my new executive team: President-Elect (Cindy Baccar, Portland State University), Past-President (Tara Sprehe, Clackamas Community College), Vice-President for Technology and Communication (Erin Sause, Mt. Hood Community College), Vice-President for Professional Development and Training (James Miller, Oregon State University), Secretary (Michelle Dodge, University of Western States), and our Treasurer (Gwen Hyatt, Marylhurst University).
In the upcoming months we will be conducting our Summer Workshops, selecting our 2011 conference planning committee, exploring the idea of a mentor program, and working on some ad hoc/public policy agenda items. Beyond planning for the 2011 conference, I am most excited as we develop the awarding process for the newly designated Herb Chereck Achievement in Excellence Award and Bob Tufts Rising Star Award. It will be a tremendous honor for whoever might be the first recipients of these awards.
I can’t wait for the big camping trip this next May! Get your gear ready.
